We enjoyed some time back on Orion in Hampton, swimming, getting together with friends, sailing with Steve, before we headed out again for a road trip north. This time we mixed some business with pleasure, getting some doctors' appointments done, while visiting with family and friends. We also squeezed in a 60th birthday celebration for Dave's sister, Diane in PA. The rest of the time was spent working on Dave's Dad's estate, which has been a lot of work, but we're starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Look who's come to visit
We got a call on the Tuesday before we were about to head back out on Wednesday: Are you guys going to be around? It was Miami, Shelley and Ryan on Yume. By mid-afternoon, we were catching their lines and starting to catch up on their trip north since we saw them last in Marathon. Since they planned to spend some time in the Chesapeake before heading to Washington in September, we spent the evening offering ideas on where they could go during their trip. The next morning, they had made their first choice – Yorktown. So, we sent them off on a history tour of the Virginia tidewater. We might hook up with them again during their summer travels. Who knows?

While making the rounds to our doctors, we got to catch up first with Cookie, our friend in Reston and then Carol, in Rochester. Because we were on a schedule to make Diane's birthday party in PA, we couldn't spend much more than a day visiting, but we had a great time enjoying their hospitality. The 60th birthday celebration had all the necessary ingredients: good friends, good food and good times. Before leaving Hampton, we joined our daugher and her children at Busch Gardens for a day. We celebrated the fourth with Steve and his family on a muggy (then stormy) day that did not end with our planned sail to watch the fireworks, thanks to nature's fireworks. To our surprise, we got to spend a 2nd day with the grandkids, but not for a good reason. Daddy Troy needed to visit the emergency room. He's on the mend, though.
So, for now, we are immersed in filling out forms, working through legal documents and getting this round of work done for Dave's mom before we head back south. We get to spend time with Mom and Diane and Pam, so it's all good.
